So here’s a few things about oncoEHR:

What is oncoEHR?
oncoEHR is an Intelligent Oncology Management Software. It is an innovative, integrated software for the input and utilization of medical information of oncology patients and the management of their treatments. It is a basic tool for the daily work of a large percentage of Greek oncologists and pathologists, helping them to carry out their work with speed, accuracy and safety, i.e. the treatment of cancer, the care of oncological patients and the facilitation of their scientific work.

Fully Web-Based and Secure: Incorporating AI technologies and including extensive general-medical and oncological functionality, oncoEHR is a fully web-based, completely secure web application for use from HY, tablet or mobile, particularly friendly to the healthcare professional. Hosted on the Amazon AWS HIPPAA compliant infrastructure, oncoEHR operates as a 100% web based Cloud native platform.

User-Friendly Interface: The software prides itself on being user-friendly, which is crucial in a healthcare setting where ease of use can significantly impact efficiency and patient care. Healthcare professionals need intuitive tools that are easy to navigate.

Specialized in Oncology: oncoEHR is the only software of its kind in Greece, exclusively designed to meet the unique needs of oncologists. It incorporates the Therapeutic Protocols of the Greek Association of Oncologists and Pathologists (EOPE), lending essential support to Greek oncologists in their daily tasks. This includes tasks like cancer treatment, patient care, and facilitating their scientific research.

Innovative Oncology Integration: OncoEHR excels in deep integration of tools and knowledge specific to oncology, offering features like:

  • Cancer classification and staging. OncoEHR allows automated cancer staging through specialized questionnaires for most cancer types. All relevant ontologies are supported (AJCC-TNM, ICD-10, ICD-O), where possible via corresponding APIs (e.g. AJCC API v2).
  • Oncology-specific subsystems for standardized monitoring of tumor progress (CR, PR, SD, PD), adverse effects of anti-cancer therapies (CTCAE), molecular markers and biomarkers, etc.
  • The innovative cancer treatment planning and management subsystem. Featuring a user-friendly, powerful editor, it can incorporate any treatment protocol, standardized (e.g. HESMO 8th edition, NCCN Guidelines) or proprietary.
  • Integration of medical documents and imaging tests (DICOM)

Chemo/Immunotherapy Management: oncoEHR integrates a powerful and extremely user friendly Chemotherapy / Immunotherapy management subsystem (CIMS). CIMS follows an holistic approach in designing, scheduling, applying and monitoring chemotherapy / immunotherapy schemas on a patient through summary and analytic (daily) views and controls. The doctor can select a pre-existing schema, modify one or define one from scratch. Calculation of dosage is automated based on patient characteristics such as weight and body surface. Specific reports can be designed to monitor required medications on a patient / clinic basis for daily, weekly or monthly monitoring. Similar reports may be produced to assist in scheduling of patient treatment at clinic level

Protection of Patient’s Privacy: oncoEHR’s privacy in design feature assists doctors and health organizations adhere to the GDPR regulation. Features like encryption (for persisted and in-transit data), complete auditing of user activity, easy export of personal information in human-readable and machine-readable format are useful tools to ensure protection of patient privacy.

At OncoEHR, our commitment to addressing the specific requirements of oncology practices has led to the creation of an innovative application that enhances the quality of cancer care. Our aim is to promote a more targeted and effective approach, ultimately improving the care of cancer patients.

OncoEHR ICMD – Intelligent Classification of Medical Documents

August 05, 2023
Dear users,

We are excited about the creation of oncoEHR ICMD (Intelligent Classification of Medical Documents), another innovative feature of oncoEHR that enables the automated insertion of medical documents into the patient’s record, leveraging the power of AI.

Through ICMD, any user can forward emails to oncoEHR containing files with medical information (e.g. pdfs with opinions, findings or medical examinations) and the system will only “understand” details such as the patient’s name, type and date of the document and automatically “upload” and enter it into the correct patient file.

The value of ICMD in facilitating and saving time for oncoEHR users becomes evident with the following comparison:

Importing documents without ICMD:

As the majority of patients’ medical documents now come to the oncology centre via email, typically sent by the patient/caregiver, the diagnostic centre or a third party physician, the following laborious manual process is required to import the attached documents into the medical record software:

  1. Receiving and ‘opening’ the email
  2. “downloading” the attachment(s) (e.g. pdf) locally to the user’s computer
  3. “Open and read each file by the user in order to determine the type of document and to which patient it relates
  4. Searching and selecting the patient’s file in the oncology file software
  5. Selection of the correct ‘screen – subsystem’ on which the medical document will be inserted
  6.  “Import” (upload) the file into the software. In fact, sometimes it is not easy here to find where the file is stored on the computer!
  7. Entering relevant data into the program either by typing or by copy-paste, which however is not always easy or feasible.

It is easy to see that the above sequence of steps is both error-prone and, above all, very time-consuming in cases where it has to be repeated dozens of times a day.Importing documents with ICMD:
1. Forward the email to a special secure email address, different for each clinic
2. The system automatically processes, categorizes and extracts information from the document contained in the email
3. All automatically processed documents are aggregated and presented in a new dedicated oncoEHR screen to the user, who performs an optional check and gives the OK for automatic entry.

Through ICMD your patient data is kept complete, up-to-date and organized with just a few clicks. We invite you to try this new functionality and experience the difference it can make in your oncology practice!
